GEI’s Sustainable Development Solution – Training on our Low Carbon Toolkit 

Global Environmental Institute (GEI) staff, Ms YU Qingchan, Dr. XU Shengnian and Ms CUI Nanying, with the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) experts, Mr. Steve Roe, Mr. Scott Williamson and Dr. David von Hippel, conducted a “Training Seminar on Low Carbon Policy Quantitative Analysis Toolkit” at the Ningxia CDM Service Centre from August 22-24 in Yinchuan.

The toolkit is used to quantitatively design and implement policies to achieve a specific low-carbon goal through a three step process of research, pilot project and policy recommendations. It also demonstrates how a policy will impact a city’s micro-economic and macro-economic variables. For instance, the toolkit calculates how much a policy will cost to implement and how the policy will affect economic growth and employment.
