GEI Contributes to Chinese OFDI Environmental Protection Guidelines

BEIJING (Feb. 28, 2013) – The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Environmental Protection released the Environmental Protection Guidelines for Overseas Investment and Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the Guidelines), based on recommendations and from Chinese environmental NGO, the Global Environmental Institute (GEI).

It is the official guidance for enterprises operating overseas to improve environmental performance and promote the sustainable development of those operations.

The Guidelines reflect core recommendations of GEI’s Integrated Policy Package Program.

Throughout its work, GEI will promote the adaptation of the Guidelines by Chinese overseas enterprises and host countries.
